1. Is the paediatric practice public or private?

Since the Health reform in 2001, paediatric practice in Bulgaria has changed.
The out-patient paediatrics is about 80% private as an organization and 20% public. The doctors are paid by The National Health Cash and not by the patients directly.
Hospital paediatric practice is about100% public. There are a small number of private pediatric clinics.

2. Is the paediatric practice only confided to paediatrician or can a general practitioner take it in charge?

Both are possible but the second possibility is comparatively rare.
